Friday Night Funkin’ is one of the few online free to play games with a story mode. You play the role of a boyfriend, who loves his girlfriend a lot and is fixated on proving himself worthy of dating the girl.

The story takes off when the girlfriend’s father, who is an ex-rockstar demands that you prove himself to be a worthy boyfriend. You involve yourself in a series of rapping and dancing battles against a number of foes. Including your girlfriend’s mom and dad. That’s where it gets tough!

Friday Night Funkin’ has a 7 weeks sequence at the moment. Each week has its own unique characters and songs to sing. So long as you are focused, and press the arrow keys in time with the music, you outdo your opponents and win the battle.

The goal is to mimic your foe’s moments and singing by using WASD or arrow keys. However, don’t let that slow start make you let down your guard. The beat becomes complicated as you make progress through the weeks and the introduction of duets will be a challenging hill to climb.

The game is definitely exciting but if you want to just give it a try and explore, head to the free play mode. There, you can have fun with all the awesome beats the game has to offer and face off against all the characters. You can even adjust the difficulty level and make it just easy enough to vibe and enjoy Friday Night Funkin’!

How to Play?

The mechanics of the game require you to mirror your opponent’s singing and dancing. You can use the arrow keys and WASD to do so. There’s also an option to switch to DFJK keys.

The “+” and “-” buttons are used to increase and decrease the volume of the game and you can hit the 0 key to mute the game entirely.

Other keys include “Enter” for selection and “Esc” for going back to previous menu.
